printmaking

I draw and I paint, I like using a digital tablet as my tool which replaced an oldschool homemade lightbox. I use my photography as a reference a lot and I love digging through old books for inspiration.  But it's the process of turning the sketches into carvings and prints in the end, that's the most fun part for me. I am inspired by the changing seasons around me, and by folk stories and mythologies that I gather, develop and make up. Illustration of stories always fascinated me and I still cherish the few beautifully illustrated children's books which have survived my crayons (my gran's house walls and my uncle's car paint have also suffered from my early relief experiments). I would love to explore natural pigments and dyes that surround us and make my stories of folklore connect with the land in the future.
